Snack time is a learning moment in disguise

Letting a child pour their own water builds hand-eye coordination, judgement and confidence, and the occasional spill is part of the lesson rather than a failure of it.
Eating together also builds language. Unhurried conversation around a table is one of the richest vocabulary environments a young child gets.
We keep food talk neutral. Foods are not good or bad, and eating is never a performance to be praised or corrected.
